The sages of India developed Ayurveda, one of the most sophisticated and powerful mind-body health systems. According to Ayurveda the mind and the body are inextricably connected. A strong and healthy body requires exercise, hygienic food, active and regular life and sleep. Balancing on all five levels physical, prana, mental psyche and spirit is a procedure which requires some guidelines to be followed.
• Calm your soul
Release emotions and thoughts by doing things that make you feel well. Look after your body and your mind. Find sometime everyday for practice asanas and meditate. Meditation is just one of the most powerful tools prescribed for balancing the body and mind.
• Understand your unique mind-body type
As Ayurveda is a personalized approach to health, it allows you to make your choices about diet, exercise and all other aspects of your lifestyle.
• Eat healthy and mindfully
Eat slowly making sure that all major food groups and nutrients are represented. Ideally a yogic diet is vegetarian, in align with the Yama of non-violence and Niyama of purity. Although this is a personal choice.
• Rest and sleep well
During sleep your body repairs and rejuvenates itself. A lack of restful sleep, weakens our immune system and speeds up the aging process.
